Simon Cheng
Simon Cheng, 29, Simon Cheng is a political advisor for think tank Empowering Hong Kong, a Hong Kong pro-democracy activist and a former employee of the UK’s consulate-general in Hong Kong where he promoted British commercial interests. In the summer of 2019 he was abducted from Hong Kong high-speed railway station by mainland state security police and spirited back to Shenzhen where he was held for two weeks, accused of being a UK spy, tortured, and forced to make a filmed confession to prostitution and treason charges. He currently is in exile in the UK.
